Unquenchable Wine Book Tour: Raise a Glass with Me!

I am so excited about meeting you, my fellow wine lovers, this fall! Come out and raise a glass (or three) with me during the tour for my second wine book Unquenchable: A Tipsy Quest for the World’s Best Bargain Wines.

There’ll be events from coast to coast that will be fun evenings, featuring tastings of the wines in the book and readings from some of the more amusing and indiscreet parts. My special thanks goes to Adria Iwasutiak and Cathy Paine at Random House/Doubleday for all their amazing efforts in putting this tour together!

We’ll get to chat afterwards, and you’ll also meet other wine lovers there whom you may also know only via Twitter or Facebook. In 2006, every event we did for the first book Red, White and Drunk All Over sold out, and there were waiting lists. So get your tickets now and meet me there!

Many of the events below include a signed copy of my book. If you’ve already pre-ordered one online, please bring it with you that evening and I’ll sign it as well so that you have one for yourself and one to give as a gift. But really, are two copies enough?

Here’s your opportunity to finish most of your holiday shopping in one evening: give a signed book as a gift on its own or as a book-and-bottle gift set. So thoughtful of you!

I love this cookbook store in the posh Westmount neighbourhood of Montreal! All of their books are dedicated to food and wine, so the selection is huge. They also have a full-fledged kitchen in the store. The biggest names in food and wine choose to have their book events here: Anthony Bourdain, Barbara Fairchild (Bon Appetit magazine), Bonnie Stern, Laura Calder, Ricardo and more.

We did two events for the first book and they were so much fun that we had to work together again! There’ll be wine and nibbles. The Friday event will be in the evening and Saturday will likely be around 5:30 p.m., but those times will be confirmed and I’ll update here when they are. Most likely you will purchase your tickets from the store.

Here are the details of this keynote address from the event site:

Travel to eight countries with Natalie MacLean to discover this planet’s staggeringly great value-priced wines. Named the World’s Best Drink Writer at the World food Media Awards, Canadian sommelier Natalie is just back from a whirlwind trip to uncover these gems and share them with you. She’ll guide you through an unforgettable tasting with her quirky humour and insider smarts  that made her first book, Red, White and Drunk All Over, a national bestseller.

In the Festival’s headline event, you’ll not only taste more than 15 wines that’ll become part of your regular shopping list, you’ll also hear Natalie read from her new book that’ll be hot off the press in November: Unquenchable: A Tipsy Quest for the World’s Best Bargain Bottles. She’ll regale you with stories about colourful and obsessive winemakers, while giving you tips to find the best under-priced wines in the region.

Frances Mayes, author of Under the Tuscan Sun, says that Unquenchable “introduces you to many winemakers who could be in novels, to out of the way places you want to add to your travel list, and, most of all, to an appreciation of vino as integral to the joy of living.” Gary Vaynerchuk, host of Wine Library TV and the Daily Grape, believes “there are very few people in the wine world that I think “get it” and Natalie is one of those people who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.”

Space is limited for this exclusive Festival event. Reserve your tickets now. Your ticket price includes a personally signed copy of Natalie’s new book Unquenchable. Following the session, you can purchase additional copies of the book as holiday gifts and Natalie will sign them.

The regions and wines: Barossa/Australia Shiraz, Mosel/Germany Riesling, Niagara Pinot Noir, Stellenbosch/South Africa Sauvignon Blanc, Sicily Reds, Mendoza/Argentina Malbec, Douro/Portugal Port, Provence/France Rose.
