Reviews and Ratings

Gwen Barton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Incredibly aromatic with notes of grass, gooseberry and citrus. Yes, the cat was definitely there when this wine was made :). Lively, crisp and dry. Nice expression of this grape that does so well in a cool climate region like Niagara. Pair with pan fried calamari.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A good summer sipper, the Wayne Gretzky Sauvignon Blanc 2019, from the Niagara wine region, exposes delicious aromas of grapefruit, passionfruit, lime, asparagus, saline and fresh cut grass. Bright, with a light body and pleasant acidity, the wine delivers a refreshing finish. Palate: Green apple, lemon, ginger and saline. Enjoy.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

From Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula appellation, this sauvignon blanc revealed reserved citrus flavours but offered plenty of pleasing aromas to enjoy. White grapefruit and slice tangerine shared centre stage with lemon drop and melon in supporting roles. Light bodied, super dry, refreshing acidity. Visit your fish monger then fire up the BBQ because this creation matches well with grilled seafood. If you prefer, serve with greens from your garden or local farmers’ market.

David Skinner rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Medium yellow and clean. Intense aromas of gooseberry, passionfruit and grapefruit. Crisp acidity with grapefruit and lime flavours. Well balanced and a medium finish with a light citrus touch.

Serve with a goat cheese, asparagus and pancetta crostini. Poolside preferably!
L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Pale lemon coloured, dry verging on off-dry, light bodied wine, with a pronounced aroma featuring tropical fruit, passion fruit, and lychee with notes of lemon grass and caraway building over time. A refreshingly zesty wine, for sipping all summer, that pairs well with summer greens, especially asparagus.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

From the Niagara Peninsula, this wine is a pale straw color, fresh and aromatic. Aromas of lemon, grapefruit, green apple and freshly cut grass. Crisp acidity with a mouthful of grapefruit, gooseberry and melon. A perfect accompaniment to a goat cheese & asparagus focaccia , or a yummy garden veggie quiche.
Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A bright and crisp Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of passionfruit, lychee, lemon, chives, white pepper, and delicate floral notes. Light to almost medium bodied, dry and lively on the palate with those tropical fruit and citrus notes following through.

Pairing: Grilled fish, quiche, deep fried zucchini or asparagus

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Pale yellow coloured with sparkling flecks of green. On the nose a bouquet of citrus, pear and lemon-grass. Flavours are bright and citrusy with lingering green melon and apple against a crisp backbone of acidity. Light, extra dry (3g/L) and refreshing. This would make a spectacular salad sipper. A perfect brunch or seafood wine.
Janet Holden rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A light and crisp aromatic wine with notes of gooseberry, grapefruit, lime, peach, pear, minerality and grass! On the palate, it is very fresh with lots of acidity and would pair very well with a goat cheese salad with a citrus vinaigrette, fish and shellfish.
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A lovely expression of Sauvignon Blanc from the Niagara Penninsula region and Wayne Gretzky Estates.
Summer aromas of fresh cut grass, white flesh peach, gooseberry, and wet stone, transforming into a zesty lime finish.
Wonderful paired with arugula salads, or grilled white fish.
Tasted May 2021.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Grassy and fresh! This sauvignon blanc has aromas of lemon fresh green grass, tinned peas and a touch of green apple. Light bodied, with vibrant acidity, and lots of bright citrus notes and a bright green herbaceous note. Enjoy with fresh spring vegetable dishes.
