From the Maipo-Andes subregion in Chile. Made from 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Carmenere, and 2% Cabernet Franc, it was Aged 12 month in 60% American and 40% French oak barrel. You can definitely smell the influence of the wood here but the fruit also speaks. Concentrated blackberry and cassis aromas along with cigar box, sweet tobacco, leather, green pepper, vanilla, and slight eucalyptus. Full bodied on the palate with perceived alcohol and smooth tannins. Tart plum, black cherry and blackberry flavours with just a touch of red licorice, and a deep espresso and smoky finish. The flavours linger. Excellent value wine. Perfect steak wine. Tasted June 2020

A visually pleasant Malbec with beautiful ruby reflections. On the nose, it has juicy black cherry, plum, and ripe strawberry aromas along with violet, leather, herbs, cinnamon and a touch of dark cocoa. On the palate, it is full bodied with flavours of tart plum, ripe cherry, sun soaked strawberry, and a long toasty and slightly bitter finish. The tannins are present yet subtle and well integrated. This wine would pair well with lamb served with mint jelly, or with herbed beef or lamb brochettes. Tasted May 2020.

A medium bodied Pinot Noir with aromas of plum, black cherry, ripe raspberry, violet, baking spices, hints of chocolate, and vanilla bean. It is silky on the palate with tart plum and sour cherry flavours. Cedar and baking spices seep through. Tasted March 2020. Wine-Food Pairing: I bought a couple of bottles for the house. This wine is versatile. I enjoyed a glass with a cheese burger. Try with duck, pork, roasted portobello mushrooms, or bison burger. Also excellent on its own.

Not your typical Rosé and made to be served warm. This Rosé spent 5 days on its skin and 8 months in French oak. It maintains characteristics of a Red wine with dark berry aromas, cedar, and dried eucalyptus leaves on the nose. You know that smell when you go to an outdoor winter event where there's a fire outside and someone is serving maple syrup on snow? This wine captures this in a very subtle way for me. On the palate, it is fuller bodied than most Rosés and has structure on the palate through gentle tannins. Tart plum flavours along with red berries. Faint notes of dried eucalyptus and cedar seep through. Serve with veal or roasted duck. Tasted at the Taste Ontario event in Ottawa March 2020

A light-bodied Pinot Noir with aromas of raspberry pie filing, field cherries, mushroom, and forest floor. It is easy drinking with tart sour cherry and cranberry flavours. Good on its own or pair with salmon, cornish hen, or roasted Portobello mushroom. Tasted at the Taste Ontario event in Ottawa March 2020

I love the tartness often associated with cool climate wines. Currently, I am loving Ontario wines, especially Pinot Noir and dry Riesling. I have a soft spot for Italian wine. I also love a wide range of sparkling wines, especially those made using the Champenoise method.
