A Full-bodied Red with plum and blackberry aromas followed by cedar, undergrowth, sage, and truffle. On the palate, the tannins are moderate but well integrated and the acidity is fresh. Flavours of tart plum with subtle cedar notes. Perfect wine for an herbed Roast or try with a steak smothered in a mushroom sauce. Delicious wine! Tasted at the Pure Discovery New Zealand Wine event in Ottawa May 2019.

Made from 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, this bubbly is visually beautiful with its garnet red colour and orange hues. On the nose, aromas of raspberry, wild cherry, orange blossom, and a little bit of funk. On the palate, flavours of cranberry, sour cherry, and citrus with a touch of bitterness at the finish. I enjoyed it! Tasted at the Pure Discovery New Zealand Wine event in Ottawa May 2019.

Among my favourites at the event. A rich, opulent sparkling made from 91% Chardonnay and 9% Pinot Noir. Aromas of baked apple in a rich butter pastry, toasted almonds, lemon, and brioche. Creamy on the palate with many fine bubbles and flavours of lemon and almond with mineral notes. This would pair well with lobster or rich seafood. What a treat! Tasted at the Pure Discovery New Zealand Wine event in Ottawa May 2019.

I love the tartness often associated with cool climate wines. Currently, I am loving Ontario wines, especially Pinot Noir and dry Riesling. I have a soft spot for Italian wine. I also love a wide range of sparkling wines, especially those made using the Champenoise method.
