Reserva

Viña Ventisquero Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Casablanca Valley, Chile

Rachelle scored this wine: 88/100

A classic Chilean style Sauvignon Blanc from the Casablanca Valley - lovely citrus and pineapple with grassy notes and a bold, crisp acidity that is very refreshing on the palate. Enjoyable on its own, with scrumptious baked asparagus fries, or a seafood pasta.

Expresión Reserva

Marco Zunino Expresión Reserva Malbec 2014

Mendoza, Argentina

Rachelle scored this wine: 90/100

This Malbec from Argentina is rich, complex and intense. Dark sun drenched fruit explode on the palate - blackberry, black cherry, and plum. Mocha, floral and fresh herbs round out the flavors on this well balanced, fresh, and most enjoyable wine. Pair with fajitas or juicy BBQ burgers.

Iconoclast

Creekside Estate Winery Iconoclast Syrah 2014

St. David's Bench, Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada
71 days ago

Rachelle scored this wine: 91/100

This Syrah from Creekside (St. David's Bench, Niagara on the Lake) is complex and very well crafted. The deep color in the glass is showing layers and flavors of black cherry, blackberry, raspberry and fragrant floral notes are classic of the cooler climate growing conditions. The finish is delightful with a lingering minerality and pepper spice that doesn't quit. Delish! Serve with BBQ chops, spareribs or duck poutine @creeksidewine

Cuvée Nicolas Vieilles Vignes

Domaine Lafage Cuvée Nicolas Vieilles Vignes Grenache Noir 2015

Côtes Catalanes, Roussillon I.G.P., France
71 days ago

Rachelle scored this wine: 90/100

Cotes Catalannes is one of the most important IGP's in the region of Languedoc-Roussillon in Southern France. The 100% Grenache shows intense, inviting aromas of juicy red and dark fruit coupled with flavors of intense black cherry, raspberry, plump blueberries, kirsch, fragrant violet and a hint of baking spice and white pepper. Complex and very well structured. Excellent value at $17.00. Perfect accompaniment with your next herb crusted pork tenderloin.

Planeta Frappato Vittoria 2015

Sicily D.O.C., Italy

Rachelle scored this wine: 92/100

Frappato di Vittoria is one of Sicily's most indigenous grapes. It grows in Vittoria DOC(Cerasuolo di Vittoria), an area in southeastern Sicily, very well known for its rare red sands and close proximity to the sea. It is here that only 840 hectares of Frappato are cultivated for the entire island. This grape is an absolute favorite of mine, this wine is fresh, fruit forward, light and elegant. The aromas of red fruit jump out of the glass with flavors of tart cherry, ripe raspberry, juicy pomegranate, wild orchard florals, and a perfectly balanced acidity. A perfect sip on its own wine or delightful with a veggie lasagna, rigatoni, or your next Turkey dinner. @PlanetaWinery
