Angels Gate Gamay Noir 2016

Niagara Peninsula, Canada

Gwen scored this wine: 89/100

Interesting and enjoyable light bodied Gamay noir from the Niagara region. Fruity notes with cranberry and cherry leading the way. Red fruit present throughout the taste experience, joined by a hint of smoke on the finish. Decently balanced. Excellent choice for your Thanksgiving meal. Tasted Sept 2018.

Côte Des Roses

Gérard Bertrand Côte Des Roses Rosé 2016

Languedoc, Midi A.P., France

This beautiful bottle with its glass rose on the base and its tiny glass cap/cork is hard to resist! The wine did not disappoint. So pretty in the glass with a soft, pure pink hue. Floral aromas with grapefruit and currant. Dry on the palate with summer fruit persisting. Detectable candy note on the finish. Overall pleasurable experience. Pair with meal of chicken kebabs drizzled with yoghurt dressing and a side of pasta salad. Tasted Sept 2018

Angels Gate Winery Gewurztraminer 2016

Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada

Gwen scored this wine: 89/100

Full-bodied and aromatic- as one would expect from a cold climate Gewurz. Very pretty golden yellow in the glass. Lychee, apples, peaches, rose petals with a notable spicy finish. Although only 7g/l residual sugar, comes across as off dry - perfect for those who like some sweetness, yet enough acidity to provide a crisp, mouthwatering experience. Pair with cheese and nuts as a last course to the meal. Tasted: Sept 2018

Runkel Pinot Noir 2012

Quälitatswein, Rheinhessen, Germany

Gwen scored this wine: 90/100

Pinot Noir- Germany’s most planted red grape. This one was very nice and the price is right! Sour cherry, baking spices and leather. Herbal and floral tones make an appearance in the finish. Solid acidity with soft tannins. Pair with sliders topped with marinated mushrooms. Tasted: July 2017

Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery Pinot Noir 2016

Similkameen Valley, British Columbia BC V.Q.A., Canada

Gwen scored this wine: 91/100

A big 100% Pinot Noir from BC’s Similkameen Valley. Dark black fruit forward aromas with definite earthy and sweet spice secondary nose. Dark cherry and blackberry flavours come through in the mouth with Smokey undertones. Drinkable- but could probably benefit with a bit of cellaring. Tannins are balanced nicely with generous acidity resulting in a nice, smooth finish At $21? Great value! Pair with blue cheese stuffed mushrooms. Tasted: July 2017
