One of the best wineries in the Niagara region, PondView Winery offers an amazing Pinot Noir. I was fortunate to taste the 2014 Bella Terra Pinot Noir and what a well made wine. Aromas of cherry, fig, potpourri, mushroom, toasted bread and cola. This elegant, food-friendly Pinot Noir offers a light body with supple tannins. The palate evolves with charming cherry, dried plum, dusty herbs, gun smoke and brown sugar. Enjoy.

Castillo de Monseran, from the Carinera region of Spain, is made from 100% Garnacha or better known as Grenache. This 2017 vintage offers dense aromas of mission fig, raspberry sauce, lavender, new leather and chocolate. Balanced with a fruity finish, this medium-bodied wine will satisfy any Spanish wine lover and connoisseur of the garnacha grape. Flavors of dried strawberry, cherry, black tea, clay pot and pie crust will unfold from this young Spaniard. Enjoy.

The young Trius Pinot Noir 2017 shows a lovely pale ruby color. Red fruit aromas of strawberry and red cherry, a lovely scent of my childhood cotton candy, as well as potpourri, tobacco leaf and brown sugar. Light bodied with a medium finish, this Trius delivers what every Pinot Noir lover desires: red fruit, balance and a mellow finish. Flavors of raspberry, strawberry, dried herbs, cocoa, spice and vanilla make this such an easy-drinking wine. Enjoy.
