Tart, tannic, dry and delicious! This medium-bodied northern Italian red wine made from the barbaresco grape has racy acidity for tangy meat sauces.

Classic aromas: roses, tar, earth. Cherry fruit initially covers the secondary flavour, but then they emerge..... And fantastic they are !! The aromas appear late on the palate, after the fruit declines a bit. Perhaps one of the best Nebbiolo based wine values I've tried in some time. It won't knock you over with power, but seduce you. Worthy of aging 3-5 years although the best payoff would be in the first year.

Light ruby in colour with a watery rim. Rose petals and orange peels on the nose. Sour cherry, leather and licorice hues. Velvety tannin and a nice, one finish.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:
Pale garnet colour. Aromas of raspberry, violets, smoke, leather, and a hint of cola. Flavours are complex and ever evolving with tart cherry, tomato, dark cocoa, dried tobacco. High acidity and tannin with a medium body and finish. Pair with medium cheese, prosciutto and will also stand up to spicy salami. 91 points. November 19th, 2017.

Brilliant garnet in the glass, and a heady bouquet of roses, white pepper and red cherries. Persistent cherry flavours, and a beautiful balance between acidity and tannins.
Perfect with simple pasta or pizza.
Tasted November 2017.

This "Baby Brunello" should be on your next shopping list. Earthy, red berries, smoke and a new leather saddle smell. Medium body with firm tannins that coat your mouth. Sour cherry flavours and a long finish. Tasted November 19, 2017.

Nose: Bing cherry & eucalyptus, black pepper, leather
Palate: Spicy cherry, dried herbs, tea leaves, firm tannins & acidity, full bodied, lingering finish
Pair with hearty tomato based pasta dishes (think meaty ragu), red wine braised red meats such as lamb or beef, hard aged cheeses like pecorino romano

Very pretty red cherry and herb notes, with fresh and dried mushroom, dried flowers and citrus. This wine is always on the lighter, sleeker side. 90 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)

Garnet in colour with aromas of cherry, cedar, herbs and earth with cherry and dried herb flavours repeating on the palate. It is medium bodied with well balanced tannins and acidity. This will pair well with tomato based dishes and medium cheeses. Tasted on November 19, 2017.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:
Medium garnet in the glass, savory notes of dried flower and berry on the nose along with some baking spice and leather. Medium bodied, juicy acidity and fine drying tannins frame berry and cherry fruit on a medium long drying finish. Decant 30min, drink with fatty protein or cellar a few years. Good value Nebiollo for under $20

Medium garnet with an orange rim. Aromas of cherry, cranberry and herbal accents. Medium body, solid acidity and full round tannins. Plenty of balance and the red fruit character is well ensconced along with the chocolate and earthy oak savoury notes. A long finish.
Try this with smoked duck breast.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:
Transluscent medium garnet colour with dark amber rim. Stewed plum and herbaceous nose. Medium-high tannins with bright balanced acidity. Juicy mouthfeel, fresh red berries taste with earthy and savory notes. Score 89. (S.Segard, reviewed Nov. 19 2017)

not much fruits and med palate. Has nice dry and medium finish. Good food pairing wine
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 82/100 with the following review:
Very much an Old-World style red…
Presentation: Classic, rather plain – it would likely get lost on the liquor store shelf
Appearance: Pale garnet, a little hazy
Nose: Medium nose, red fruit (raspberries, strawberries), red licorice, oak, dark honey
Taste: Dry, medium body, high acidity, pronounced, drying tannins, with strong notes of sour cranberries and earth at first, followed by sour cherries and raspberries, bitter, wet leaves
Finish: long sour wet leave, dirty finish
Overall impression: A classic Old-World red, strong on the wet tertiary notes (wet leaves, dirty earth), then strong on the sour red fruit. It needs pasta with tomato-based sauces to balance the acidity, salty foods (such as salt and vinegar chips), and old, salty cheeses (such as blue cheese)
