Conundrum Red 2020

California, United States

Lori scored this wine: 89/100

co·nun·drum "a confusing and difficult problem or question" The difficult question here is what red meat are you going to pair with this BIG, juicy lush wine?? Very aromatic with aromas of cooked black fruit, ripe blackberry, vanilla and cocoa. Plush mouthfeel with smooth tannins and flavours of ripe cherry and blackberry. High alcohol and a bit on the sweet side - it would be the perfect foil for Memphhis bbq'd ribs, steaks and grilled burgers Tasted April 26/2022

Argento Rosé 2020

Lori scored this wine: 88/100

The colour of the label on the bottle and wine in the glass are a perfect match! Aromas of wild strawberry and melon. Strawberries again on the palate with the Syrah lending a little bite of pepper! Dry with crisp acidity. A value priced summer sipper! Tasted April 24/2022

Bella Terra

Lori scored this wine: 91/100

Another great wine in the Bella Terra lineup! Intense aromas of ripe blackberry and plum with underlying layers of vanilla and spice. Juicy with more black fruit, cocoa and white pepper on the palate. I drank this delightful wine with a bbq'd hamburger that had a light coating of Texas Hill Country bbq sauce that paired perfectly. Check out their website and order a case today for this upcoming grilling season! Tasted April 17/2022

Hester Creek Estate Winery Old Vine Pinot Blanc 2021

Golden Mile Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia V.Q.A., Canada

Lori scored this wine: 91/100

The 2021 growing season in the south Okanagan was exceptionally hot and dry. The result was concentrated aromas and flavours due to the smaller grapes. The “old vine” comes from the fruit harvested from vines planted in 1968 and 1997. Aromas of tropical fruit; pineapple, ripe melon, peach with a mineral backbone. Crisp acidity with low residual sugar (1.42 g/l) and flavours of Meyer lemon, pear and ripe apple. I paired it with a charcuterie platter with a variety of cheese and the company of good friends! Old Vine

Hester Creek Estate Winery Old Vine Cabernet Franc 2019

Golden Mile Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia BC V.Q.A., Canada

Lori scored this wine: 90/100

The Mission statement of a Hester Creek is “ Passionately offering our guests memorable experiences through quality wines and gracious hospitality.” Having only drunken their wines I can definitely say they are of exceptional quality! Over 50 years ago, then owner Joe Busnardo planted many vinifera grape varies on his south facing slopes just south of Oliver, BC. This Cabernet Franc came from one of those “Old Vines”. It’s dry and full bodied (14.5% alc.) and intensely aromatic. Ripe blackberries and spice on the nose with flavours of vanilla, ripe strawberries and red plum. Balanced acidity with smooth integrated tannins. Long fruity finish with a touch of peppery bite at the end. Pair this beauty with any red meat dish or enjoy sipping on its own! Tasted March 28/2022
