Colin scored this wine: 90/100

Ruby in colour with aromas of plum, black cherry, smoke and blackberries. It is full bodied with well balanced tannins and acidity with the aromas repeating on the palate. This will pair well with grilled red meats and strong cheeses. A terrific value wine for the price. Tasted on May 19, 2019.

Colin scored this wine: 93/100

Dark ruby in colour with a luscious fruit forward bouquet of plum, blueberry, baking spice and violet. It is full bodied with well balanced acidity and tannins while being high in alcohol. On the palate you are rewarded with flavours of ripe dark berries. This will pair well with lamb and grilled red meats. A terrific value for the high quality, pick up a bottle while you can. Tasted on April 6, 2019.

I must confess this is one of the view times I fell for LCBO marketing. When i was in-line to purchase some wine I saw this one on sale for $7.95 proudly claiming a rating of 96 points. For a rating that high for a price that low I decided to check it out. It is ruby red in colour with faint aromas of oak, cherry and plum. It is medium bodied, with low tannins and medium acidity. The flavour notes were very weak with faint flavours of sour cherry, tobacco, earth and dark chocolate. This would pair with grilled red meats. So over all is this wine a 96? In my opinion, not even close. It is an OK wine for the price but personally I would rather spend another $8.00 and get a much better wine. (Tasted on March 16, 2019)

Unusual Wine Experience

Not a single experience but going back and trying wines I previously hated only to discover they were really good. I have discovered a lot of wine I love by giving them a second chance.
