Spritz Up Your Summer with These 3 Cocktails

With the heat rising, nothing beats a refreshing spritz to cool down and impress your guests. And who better to help us than our favorite drinks expert Natalie MacLean. Welcome, Natalie!

Tim, I’m bubbling with excitement because these summer spritz cocktails!

What makes a spritz cocktail so perfect for summer entertaining?

A spritz is summer’s best friend because it’s light and refreshing. The beauty is in its simplicity — usually just three or four ingredients: something sparkling, something sweet or bitter, and a splash of soda water. The spritz is the little black dress of cocktails: effortless, chic, and versatile.

And why does the right glassware matter?

We often focus on the drink, but the glass matters just as much. It’s like the frame around a beautiful painting. These Spiegelau Capri glasses are stunning lead-free, recycled crystal frames for your liquid creations.

That’s why you’ll find them in top restaurants and bars, and they’re also my personal go-to glassware. After trying many others, I keep coming back to these.

You know, sipping from a gorgeous glass just feels more special. And they’re dishwasher safe. The best part is you can get these glasses now through Loblaws’ Collect & Save Program running until July 3rd.

Terrific, let’s get mixing! What’s our first summer spritz creation?

We’re starting with the St-Germain Spritz. Just add two ounces of St-Germain elderflower liqueur that’s made from more than one thousand handpicked flowers in the French Alps.

Then three ounces of a top quality Prosecco like this Masi Modello.

I’ll get you to top the glasses up with premium soda water from Fever-Tree.

Nicely done, Tim!

Now we just garnish with some fresh mint and cucumber ribbons and voila, it’s like drinking a garden party!

Look how the bubbles rise so elegantly in these Spiegelau Capri white wine glasses. The clarity of the crystal really highlights the cocktail’s pale golden hue, and the shape enhances its aromatics.

These look restaurant-quality! What’s our second spritz?

Next up we have the Lambrusco Spritz! It’s made from Lambrusco, an Italian sparkling wine. It’s a delicious rebel red among white and rosé bubblies.

We combine it with a premium orange liqueur like Cointreau.

Tim, please top up the glasses with soda water for extra bubbles.

You’re a pro! I see a future for you behind the bar—or at least in front of one.

I’m going to add some orange slices.

I absolutely love how the Spiegelau Capri water glasses accentuate the ruby-red tints of this cocktail. It’s like a sunset in a glass; the perfect end for a perfect summer evening!

That color is absolutely stunning in these glasses! Now, what about a non-alcoholic option for designated drivers or those avoiding alcohol?

This Mocktail Spritz proves you don’t need alcohol to create something spectacular. I’m using a premium alcohol-free sparkling wine from St. Regis and pomegranate juice.

The key is layering flavors just like we do with alcoholic cocktails. Then the bubbles add that festive feeling we love.

I’m coming back to you to top us up.

Wonderful!

Even in a mocktail, these Spiegelau Capri red wine glasses elevate the entire experience! No one misses the alcohol when the presentation is this good. The elegant, elongated shape carries up all those lovely aromas.

It tastes like summer berries dancing on your tongue.

The presentation is everything! Any tips for home entertainers?

Yes! First, chill everything – your glasses, your wines, even your garnishes. Ice is your friend but use large cubes that won’t dilute your drinks quickly.

Fresh herbs and citrus peels aren’t just garnishes – they’re aromatherapy for your cocktails. And here’s a professional tip: the 3-2-1 rule works perfectly for spritzes – 3 parts sparkling wine, 2 parts bitter or sweet component, and 1 part soda water.

These Spiegelau Capri glasses hold the perfect amount for this ratio, and their shape actually helps maintain the carbonation longer.

Before we wrap up, remind our viewers how they can get these beautiful glasses.

Loblaws has made it easy with their Collect & Save Program. For every $20 you spend in-store, you get a stamp. Collect enough, and you can redeem them for these Spiegelau Capri glasses.

It’s like you’re getting rewarded for doing your grocery shopping with premium glassware.

But don’t wait—you can collect stamps until July 3, and you can redeem them until July 30.

Trust me, once you taste these cocktails in proper glassware, you’ll never go back to regular glasses. It’s like the difference between watching a movie on your phone versus IMAX!

Natalie, these cocktails are fantastic!

Cheers Tim!
