Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Lovely, lovely nose with an obvious new world charm. Loads of berry fruit from the Syrah, an accent of oak but not dominating and a smoke note late. You might never see this much oak in a French Syrah, but forgetting this fact, if this wine was French it would command a much higher price.
Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep garnet in colour, plum, blueberry and vanilla aromas with slight smoke flavours. A nice full finish. A great full body wine for winter comfort food.

Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Beautiful nose of toasty oak. I could smell this wine all day. Lots of oak on the palette but in a balanced way. It's like velvet on the mouth. Pair with a fireplace and a cold snowy night. Pair with food that could stand up to the oak such as nutty cheeses, walnuts in a salad, roast beef or steak.

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Wow, mocha! This wine is built to pair with gourmet beef burgers, charcuterie, braised beef or beef fajitas. Huge mocha, dark chocolate, ripe berry, savoury. Balanced. Tasted 2014 vintage Nov 2017. 91 points. #BespokeTastings
Caitlin Coleman rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Deep dark garnet colour. Black plum, blueberry, black berry and cassis on the nose paired with vanilla and smoke. So much flavour and body to this wine, and at such value!!!
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Opaque ruby. Intense aromas of black plums blueberries, blackberries, vanilla, tobacco, and gentle smoke. The smoky mocha and vanilla taste mingles with the ripe black fruits ito create a full bodied, well-structured wine that is ready to drink in good company or to pair with a hearty stew or juicy steak. Score 91.

Always a steal. Huge blackberry, black plum skin, toast, chocolate and espresso notes. Some fresh and dried dark flowers are present as well. So good. 91 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
