Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A lovely wine with lots of crushed black cherry and berries, with some chocolate and fresh tobacco. A lovely wine that always hits the mark in terms of price/quality. 90 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby in colour with aromas of black cherry, cedar, cassis, blackberry and tobacco. It is full bodied with flavours of black cherry, cassis, blackberry and chocolate. This will pair well with firm cheese and grilled red meats, such as steak or ribs. Tasted on November 19, 2017.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Ripe red berry, blueberry, savoury, mocha. Balanced, medium tannins, medium acidity. Pairs well with beef tacos arrachera style. Tasted 2015 vintage in Nov 2017. 90 points. #BespokeTastings
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby. Aromas of blueberries and plums with a hint of smoke and mint. This wine has a juicy mouthfeel and gentle tannins. Its palate expresses stewed black fruits, mocha, and cedar plank. Score 90.

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a true purple toother. Deep ruby colour with medium tears, high staining. Interesting cherry, blackberry, tobacco smoke, leather and stemmy aromas from this Washington Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate - Cherry, anise, blackberry, black fruit, plum, bitter chocolate and espresso on the end, also a certain fresh pencil note here too. (a mix of pencil shavings and graphite together on the mouth) Medium-full body, acidity and medium finish. Medium tannins here too, pretty earthy round and balanced. Pair with robust red meats and smoked meat sandwitches. 90 points. Tasted November 2017
Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A dark purple-hued Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of cedar, ripe blackberry and blueberry, dried eucalyptus leaves, leather, and sweet spice. In terms of flavours, we have juicy blueberries and cocoa. The tannins are moderately structured and well integrated.

Tasted November 2017
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This red wine from Chateau St. Michele is fruit forward with lots off dark fruit - blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, stewed prunes, leather and tobacco. Tasted November 2017.
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This bottling was chosen as the anniversary wine for the winery, which is celebrating their 50th in 2017. The blend is 87% Cab Sauv, with 4% Syrah, 1% Malbec, 6% Merlot, 1% Cab Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot.
Bright ruby colour.
Pliable and soft. This wine is delicate and the aromatics are subtle. Look for aromas of cherry candy, cranberry, sage, rosemary, charcoal, cassis, and new leather.
In classic Ste. Michelle style, the wine is less of an aggressive fruit bomb than a lot of similarly marketed wines. Theirs has a modest 13.5% alcohol and is much more about balance.
Flavours of cranberry, cassis, and chocolate initially. Good acidity, supple, and moderate tannins. Again, not overly aggressive. Slight herbal edge that Ch.Ste. Michelle is notable for comes out with a bit of breathing time. More rosemary, sage, and green pepper.
Delicious pairing for beef carpaccio and summer greens.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

sweet, jammy, not much structure and some finish. Typical columbia cab
Chateau Ste Michelle (2015) is a great value Cabernet Sauvignon from the Columbia Valley in Washington. Look for supple, ripe blackberries and plum flavours on the palate. Tannins are fine and silky. Great balance. - Community Wine Reviews
