Reviews and Ratings

Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A perfectly quaffable Zin for the masses. Smooth and silky, black cherry, licorice, leather, and a hint of smoke. Dry and zippy, silky tannins, medium finish. Drink now with whatever is on the grill.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A great value old vine California Zin, big and bold, full-bodied and bursting with flavour. Mouthwatering acidity, ripe jammy raspberry and blackberry with a hint of spicy tart cherry. Great Zin for pairing with a rack of BBQ baby back ribs and easily drinking on its own. Crowd pleasing. Affordably priced. Tasted 2014 vintage in May 2017. 89 points. BespokeTastings
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby, and very smoky. The aromas are primarily sweet and dark cherry with a touch of smoked meat and vanilla. The taste is rich dark cherry with a touch of dark chocolate. Medium acidity and very little tannin. Great for a charcuterie platter.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Smokey plum, cherry and green pepper corns on the nose. Smokey plum on the palate with a touch of black pepper. Full-bodied and balanced. Pair with BBQ ribs. Tasted Oct 02, 2016.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of raspberry, plum and lots of smoke. The palate offers black fruit with some spice and vanilla. Great wine for a BBQ.

Big, bold, take-no-prisoner Zinfandel. Plum, cherry, dark chocolate and smoke on a dry, mouth-watering palate. Pair this with your next plate of barbequed pork ribs.
Tasted Oct. 2016
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Black cherry and vanilla on the nose that carry through on the palate with mouth watering and persistent cherry flavours.
Good with sharp cheeses and a variety of appetizers.
Tasted on May 2017.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Smoky upfront and ripe jammy berry fruit right behind. A medium-bodied, ripe, flavourful fruit-forward Petit Syrah with a smooth mouthfeel, minimal tannins, and a moderate acidity. Enjoy with smoked chicken wings. Tasted May 2017 by @sommsosa / bespoketastings.ca
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Dark cherries and plum on the nose with smoke. On the palette, full-bodied and very smooth, and smokey and savory, bone dry and a spicy, but short finish. Lacks complexity, but a great sipper wine, full of spicy raspberry. Would pair well with dry cured or grilled meats, and a kale salad.
