Owned black cherry and tobacco with just the right amount of rounded tannins. This was a 2012 tasted in 2018. Time to see if there's more available ...

Deep and vibrant with aromas of blackberries, blueberries, earthiness, cigar box, and smoked meat. Loads of acidity, medium+ tannins, and flavours of blueberry and young, tart blackberry. Fantastic, and will improve with decanting. I'm pairing this with a traditional roast beef and potatoes dinner.

Douglas scored this wine: 88/100

Deep purple with aromas of plums, vanilla, cloves, Cassis, and some earthiness. The taste follows the aromas, with the plum being prominent, There are medium tannins that are nicely rounded. Quite the nice wine for the price.

Douglas scored this wine: 88/100

Fresh aromas of green melon, apple, petrol, honeysuckle, and minerality. Off-dry, with 13g/l sugars, but balanced quite nicely by high acidity. The palate is mostly yellow and delicious apple with a touch of pear. I'm pairing this with a spicy pork stir-fry and rice.

Serpico

Douglas scored this wine: 94/100

Deep and dark, with lots of earthy overtones, plum, raisin, blueberry, and black cherry. Mouth-watering acidity that balances the richness. The raisin and black cherry come through at the front of the taste. The tannins are just below medium and are extremely well integrated. Mouth-feel could best be described as liqueur-ish. Too rich for silky, too bright for velvety, but great all the same. I'm pairing this with barbecued beef tenderloin, blue cheese, and Caesar salad. 2017.05.27
