Reviews and Ratings

Gwen Barton rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Your nose is greeted with blackberry, plum and cigar tobacco aromas. Taste delivers solid fruit, sweet spice and bright acidity. Light tannins and warm spicy finish. Very nice Gamay that would go with wide variety of food options- but I'd like to try it with an antipasto platter.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Enticing aromas of smoke and dark cherry and blackberry. Light tannins and bright acidity typical of gamay wines make for great food matches. Serve lightly chilled with pizza, sausage, a charcuterie platter, a salad with grilled chicken.... the list goes on. Tasted April 20, 2016.
Carola Price rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a wonderful wine and brings a different level to the same old Beaujolais.
The nose has some white pepper and strawberry or cherry jam.
Light to medium body with a very balanced finish. A great match with grilled fish and vegetables. Roast chicken and garlic mashed potatoes.
Drink now or hold for 2 years.
Devon rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Vibrant red berry nose of cherry and candied strawberry. These aromas continue onto the palate with hints of sweet smoke, backing spice and dried rose. Medium body wine that would pair well with a rose pasta with hot smoked salmon.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Rustic and earthy with cherry, cranberry, and black pepper. Touch of pretty violet.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Strawberry and cherry with earthy and gamey notes. Light-bodied with bright acidity and a tart cherry finish. Enjoy with summer salads and grilled chicken. Tasted April 3, 2016.
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A fairly straightforward gamay - ripe cherry and sweet smokiness on the nose; medium-bodied with quite zippy acidity dominating the finish. Try it with ratatouille!
Wineboy rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

More heft in this Gamay than many at this price, softer acidity adds to it's richness. A noted gamey note on the nose that lessened over time. A lovely wine to be consumed in 2016-2017
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 81/100 with the following review:

A sour berries and terroir Gamay…
Presentation: Classic yet a little forgettable, but would get lost in the wine bottle wall
Appearance: Very light ruby red
Nose: Cooked blueberries, meat, leather, cedar
Taste: Very sour berries, green peppers, meat
Finish: A short finish of leather, sand and sour berries and green peppers
Overall impression: I admit this wine made me pucker. It was surprisingly sour and the back end, though short, was strong on terroir and sour berries.
Value: 2.5/5
Olivier de Maisonneuve rated this wine as 80/100 with the following review:

Interesting medium nose of dill and white pepper. Fine by itself,to open your appetite, its initial body suggests it likes to party with food.Medium length. The final acidity strangely drys the lips.I like the field berries flavours, but that final dryness makes me question my enjoyment of this wine.I'll try it with charcuteries, and give my final judgement. No score for the moment.
