Marlborough

Sacred Hill Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Marlborough, New Zealand

Courtney scored this wine: 90/100

Initially tons of flint on the nose - matchstick. Opens up to traditional New Zealand sauv blanc notes of gooseberry, key lime, pink grapefruit, and background notes of mint. Zesty and vibrant, this one really stimulates both the sense of taste and smell - even tickling my nose as I sip, feeling a little like wasabi. Very fun!

Benziger Family Winery Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Mouth-watering, super fresh and aromatic sauvignon blanc from California - grapefruit zest, white grapefruit, lemon, lime, lemongrass, passionfruit, and honesuckle. Great acidity, and a flavor that lingers quite a while (grapefruit, lemongrass). Would contrast well with some glazed carrots, or even hold up to a light coconut curry.

Dry riesling - Green apple, honeydew melon, white peach and wet stone minerality. Touch of tarragon. Spicy white pepper finish. Pretty and very light! Pair with asparagus, goats cheese.

Ripe sauvignon blanc from California with a touch of muscat thrown in for aromatics. Very tropical nose of ripe pineapple, pear, and meyer lemon with a touch of fennel zesty acidity and minerality. Light bodied and elegant. Great pairing for oysters, shaved fennel salad, and feta cheeses.

Henry of Pelham Winery Estate Riesling 2018

Love this elegantly made Riesling from vines planted in 1984, this wine is pure fruit, light in body while still lingering on the finish. Crisp peach, pear, lemongrass, grapefruit zest, honey, and orange blossom. Very balanced acidity, great pairing for a crisp green salad with a honey Dijon vinaigrette, goats cheese.
