White Wine

Cave Spring Cellars Riesling 2007, V.Q.A. Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada: Floods the senses with exuberant notes of green apples, limes, white peach and field flowers. The touch of sweetness is hardly noticeable because it’s offset with a lovely silver thread of acidity. A light- to medium-body makes this an ideal aperitif or an accompaniment to many dishes. Pair with: roast turkey, savory stuffing, smoked turkey, seafood, light fish dishes. 234583 11%  750 mL  $14.25 Score: 88/100. March 24, 2009 Full Review Add to: Shopping List Cellar

Red Wine

Farnese Sangiovese Abruzzo 2007, Italy: Opens with dark rich notes of black cherry, sun-dried tomato, tobacco and fresh-turned earth. This medium-bodied, supple wine has vibrant acidity and a plummy heart. Pair with: antipasti, appetizers, veal parmiggiana, pizza, tomato-based pasta, hard aged cheeses. 512327 13%  750 mL  $7.55 Score: 86/100. March 24, 2009 Full Review Add to: Shopping List Cellar
