Natalie's Score: 86/100

A playful light red with fresh notes of ripe red cherries, raspberries and strawberries. Good mouth-awakening acidity gives the wine extra vibrancy. This is a terrific wine for those who find many reds too heavy or alcoholic. I won't promise that you won't get a hangover if you overindulge, but it's a lovely sipper throughout an evening and will pair with both light meat dishes and meaty fish dishes.

Gamay food pairings: Korean food, cold meats, fried chicken, smoked salmon sandwiches.

Reviews and Ratings

Malcolm Lamont - WSET Adv, CSW rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This clear wine has a medium purple colour with fast moving tears, and clean medium- developing aromas of dark cherry, cedar, blueberry, violet, cinnamon, and chai tea.

It is dry with medium acidity, tannins, alcohol and body. It has a medium flavour intensity of dark cherry, strawberry jam, cedar, cinnamon, and raspberry.

Nicely, it has a medium+ length on the clean warming finish.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
