Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.

Aged 8 months in oak. A vibrant red with intense mocha notes. Layers of fresh cherry and plum notes. 4.4/5 Carmenere food pairings: venison, bison steak, barbecued ribs, ostrich, partridge.

|Dan Trcka rated this wine as 4.4/5 with the following review:|
The 2010 Santa Carolina Carmenère Reserva, aged in French oak for 8 months, is a medium to full bodied, fruity to integrated wine with nice aromas of prune, coffee bean and smoke. The tannins are refined (decant for 15 to 30 min) and the finish is medium. It is ready to drink now and for the next 5 years. My impression: NICE, 88 pts - great buy for $12. Tasted Sept/11.
