From the Penedès wine region, Torres Mas La Plana 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep ruby in the glass. The wine juice spent seven days fermenting In stainless-steel tank under controlled temperatures to enhance the fresh flavours in the wine, then aged in French oak barrel (85% new oak). Dry, full-bodied and rich with black cherry, ripe plum, sweet dried tobacco, savoury herbs, mint, softly spiced with a mineral kiss on the finish. Very elegant with fine-grained tannins. Pour with a Barbecued Galician Sirloin Steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Simon Chen rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Decanted for 2 hours and drank over 3 hours. In the beginning, the wine showed more herbal notes, eucalyptus, and very grippy rustic tannin on the finish. At the 2 hour mark, it started to show dark chocolate, mocha, tobacco profiles. It's rich but not overly sweet. Very good structure, complex, and the tannin was fully integrated by the 4th hour.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This is a beautiful and rich wine, perfect for your next steak night. Aromas of currant and raspberry, along with eucaluptus, hints of mocha, ired herbs and a touch of smoke. Full bodied, rich and robust on the palate with medium+ acidity and some mdium drying tannins (after some time in the decanter). Fruit notes on the palate are rich and rounded, and there is more dried herbaceous notes and a bit more of that smoky hint on the finish. This will age well, and should definitely be decanted for an hour or so before enjoying.
Paula Bernardino rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Great event at the offices of Dandurand Wines in Montreal on May 21, 2019 where Miguel Torres Maczassek, CEO of the famous Torres family and member of the fifth generation, hosted a special intimate wine tasting of the winery’s latest vintages.

The second wine at the tasting event was the red wine Mas La Plana, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. A nice dark ruby colour. Aromas of licorice and flavours of cherries. Nice acidic finish. I would pair it with a nice piece of filet mignon. 14.5% alcohol. The 2012 vintage is available at the SAQ (Code SAQ: 12663282) at $65.
