A full-bodied, savoury Californian Cabernet that needs to be decanted 1-2 hours before serving. Attractive notes of black fruit and smoke. Pair with a rare steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Plum and cherry aromas and flavors. The palate adds some spice before ending with a soft finish. Overall a nice mixture of flavors and a good value wine.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The SIMI 2012 vintage Cabernet Sauvignon is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot, sourced from Alexander Valley and 13.5% ABV. Deep ruby red, this wine shows ripe red fruit and cassis, with dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla. The wine is mouthwatering and full-bodied with medium acidity, and medium tannins. Well-balanced acidity, fruit and structure, this wine has medium persistence and a finish of ripe red fruit, vanilla and a hint of leather. Recommend pairing with BBQ or braised red meats or hearty rich and robust vegetarian dishes. This wine is hearty and fruit forward offering depth and complexity to nourish the soul and make the palate smile. Ready to enjoy now and at it's best 2015-2020.
Astrid Young - Sommelier ISG CAPS rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Dark savory fruit on the nose, herbal and dried leaf notes with raisins and dried fruit character. firm acidity and soft, ripe tannins, dark and brooding on the finish with black dried plums and dry spices. great with a philly cheesesteak sandwich, grilled duck or steak.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Very full bodied and aromatic, although it needs some time to open up. Over ripe blackberry aromas come through along rich dried raisin, dried herbs and spice. Fruit comes through mostly on the palate, with medium tannins and a medium finish. Nice acidity would balance well with char-grilled meats on the BBQ.
Philippe Perreault - Sommelier rated this wine as 80/100 with the following review:

The color is deep purple.

A jammy nose with strawberry, bleuberry, cherry and smoke.

The wine is silky, rich, full-bodied and long.

Pair it with BBQ.

Serve it at 15-17 degrees.
I suggest to pour it in carafe at less 45 minutes.

Ready to drink but can be aged 2-3 years.
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this robust Californian red wine are grown in the cool climate of Sonoma's Alexander Valley. Good cellar candidate. - Community Wine Reviews
