Crasto 2019 is always a crowd pleaser and great value at $20. Produced from equal amounts of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca, with 10% Tinta Barroca, aged in neutral oak barrels for six months. Concentrated and elegant with dark cherry, crushed red berries, baking spice, earthy and savoury herb flavours balanced and lingering on the palate. Tannins are velvety. Pour with meat and vegetable kebabs from the grill.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A great value, really nicely balanced. Aromas of black cherry, warm spice, smoke and grpahite. Full bodied, robust with firm tannins, lots of ripe berry notes and a smoky, spicy finish. Enjoy with marinated flank steak.
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A beautiful blends of four local grapes from the Douro region of Portugal.
Enticing aromas of black cherry, oak, black pepper and leather carry through to a mouthwatering cherry flavour, and finishing in a velvety linger.
Pair with hearty vegetable or beef stews.
Tasted April 2022.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The Crasto 2019 from the Douro region is a great value Portuguese wine. A blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Barroca offers aromas of sour plum, black currant, mint, graphite, spice and nutmeg. Full bodied with soft acidity and polished tannin, with a surprising long finish, the wine is perfect for food pairing. Palate: tart plum, tart blueberry, tea, graphite, leather, spice and cocoa. Enjoy.
Crasto 2019 is a customer favourite, a rich, vibrant red blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca, with 10% Tinta Barroca aged in neutral oak barrels for six months. Full-bodied and concentrated on the palate with dark cherry, red berry, warm spices, smoke and flinty flavours long on the finish. Tannins are firm. Drink or hold. - Community Wine Reviews
