Reviews and Ratings

Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The term 'funky' came to mind - but in a good way - when I tasted this wine. This is an unoaked Chardonnay that spent 18 months sur lie. This imparted a "yeasty" nose - combined with aromas of apple, pear and some floral notes. Apparently this is winemaker Caroline Granger's "baby" and I can see why! My pairing recommendations would be grilled chicken or a panzanella salad! Tasted October 2017.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Pale Straw colour. The unbaked Chardonnay has crisp green apple and melon aromas and a very gentle toasted nose. Medium bodied. the apple flavours relatively shortly, but ride a lively acidity. Score 89.

Lynn Van Der Linde rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Glistening golden hue in the glass, and winemaker Maggie Belcastro's "baby", having left the wine on its lees (skins) for 18 months, imparting toasty (yeast) aromas and flavours. A leaner Chardonnay, closer to an Old World character.
Lovely with polenta or simply with bread and cheese.
Tasted Sept 2017.
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Lemon, apple, nutty-toasted hazelnut, yeasty-leesy, savoury Chardonnay. Medium-bodied with a fresh zip of acidity. Pair with a Waldorf-style salad.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Pale lemon colour with citrus, olive brine, salty mineral and sourdough bread. On the palate, elements of pickled onion, green olives and citrus. Medium plus acidity, medium body and finish. A hint of acetone present. Pair with hotdogs, ketchup, relish and dill pickle potato chips. Also seafood and chicken friendly. 85 points November 19th 2017
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Medium apple and apricot, huge acidity, high acidity, mouthwatering, light bodied. 85 points.
