Ahhh.... Barosa SZ. Fully aromatic with classic berries dominating along with beautiful vanilla oak. Dryer than some Aussie SZ without being too dry for SZ lovers. A touch of warmth lingers along with pure fruit and fresh cut oak kissed by smoke. A great value.

Barossa is famous for the wines produced in its red clay soils. This is a great example of a quality and good value wine that the area can produce. Full bodied but elegant. Aromas of blackberry and blueberry, tobacco and spice. Medium plus tannins and acidity. Still a bit young - I would recommend aerating if drinking now or put away for a few years. The first pairing that comes to mind is a medium-well hamburger topped with some blue cheese! Tasted May 31, 2016.

Impressive nose of blackberry, cherry, plum, mint/nettle/eucalyptus and more on the palate with smoke and spice added. Grippy tannins and some serious alcohol balance out the fruit, but will probably mellow out a bit in a year or two, if you wish to put a couple of bottles aside. Drink now with big beef :)

Aussie Shiraz is in a league of its own and the Barossa Valley Estates Shiraz is a great example of value priced high quality Shiraz you can get from this storied region. A silky smooth first impression backed with refreshing acidity and a nice supply of fine tannins make this a great choice for BBQ pairings and equally enjoyable on its own. Deep ruby, plummy, stewed fruit with a sweet confected note. Soft and plummy with blueberry, ripe fruit, medium bodied with good acidity and drying greenish tannins.
Try cellearing for a few years or pair with venison chops with a blueberry sauce. A little primary at this stage for my taste. 87+
