Borsao Tres Picos Garnacha 2016, Campo De Borja D.O., Spain: Borsao Tres Picos is a full-bodied 100% Grenache red from the Campo de Borja wine region located in south Rioja. Lots of mocha and dark chocolate aromas on the nose that are then flooded with lusciously ripe black fruit on the palate. Full-bodied and smooth. The 2016 vintage is great value under $20. This winery is comprised of 100% Garnacha grapes. The grapes for this wine grow on old vines, which provides additional concentration and flavour. Great structure. A rich darkly hued colour in the glass. A long, satisfying finish. Pair with grilled steak. Garnacha food pairings: veal chops in red wine sauce, turkey tetrazzini, soft cheeses.
