Reviews and Ratings

Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Winemaker Bob Bertheau called this an old world Chardonnay. Oak, vanilla and crisp green apple on the nose and palate. Some baking spice notes accentuate the flavors on the palate. I loved the complexity of the flavors in this wine. Would pair well with seafood linguini.
Lise Charest Gagne rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This wine was made right on the river where the water affects the temperatures. The area has allot of sand and is very windy resulting in barometric changes that affect the vines. The vines and grapes are small influencing the style, the outcome is a leaner old world Chardonnay. Aromas of FRESH, creamy citrus. Flavors of soft mid rich fruit (more citrus and ripe apple), some soft spice but not heavy on the oak. Fermentation was done is french oak (some new and some stained). The wine softened a bit more (about an hour) in the glass, so decanting would be a great idea to let it evolve to its potential. It’s not heavy on the oak yet still stands tall in the glass. It makes me think of a solid slate statue draped in silk. I would love to serve this over a holiday turkey dinner.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This wine is lean and fresh, with notes of apple, citrus, as well as candied lemon and lemon curd that seems just buried underneath the baby fat of this wine. Expect these notes to be more pronounced over time. This wine is incredibly balanced and well worth the 5-7 year drinking window if you can keep your hands off of it for that long. 91 Points. Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a Chardonnay with finesse. The wine was aged in 83% french oak barrels and 17% stainless steel resulting in subtle oak aromas of vanilla and spice, overlaid with peach and tropical notes. The winemaker did partial malolactic fermentation (3/4) with the result of a soft buttery mouthfeel.

There was a harmony in this Chardonnay that I really enjoyed. Very well balanced with fruit, acidity and oak. This is not a one-dimensional wine, it has complexity on the nose and flavours. At 13.5% alcohol this is a serious white that is very food friendly. Chateau Ste. Michelle's website recommendation is salmon, crab cakes or pork. I would add creamy pastas and a Triple Cream Brie cheese to that list.

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

An elegant , focused style of Chard, fermented in 100% French oak. Shows greater acidity compared to the 2016 Celebration Chard, with citrus and apple notes and a touch of nutmeg on finish. Enjoy with salmon or other seafood.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A lovely Chardonnay showing a lot of elegance and balance. Soft French oak and malolactic fermentation provide a delicate touch of roundness that complement notes of crisp green apple, lemon zest, and a hint of warm spice. Beautifully balanced acidity and a clean, lengthy finish. This wine is versatile, and would complement a variety of dishes, including herb roasted chicken, any pasta with cream sauce, or a range of fish and seafood. Delicious!
