This robust Spanish red wine is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes, the country's flagship red wine varietal. The wine was matured for 12 months in oak barrels followed by prolonged bottle aging before being released from the winery. A superb Spanish red wine, especially at this price point! Full-bodied, rich and layered with aromas of black fruit, dark spice, earth and toast. Pair with game meats. Serve at 17-18 degrees Celsius.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Enticing red (candied) berry and sweet baking spice aromas. Tart cranberry notes are dominant on the palate. This wine is dry with high mounthwatering acidity, a satin mouthfeel, and a long clean cranberry finish. This wine is an absolute bargain for quality! It pairs very well with your favourite stews or braises. Tasted Oct 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A gorgeous deep ruby colour with aromas and flavours of red berries, mocha and violets. Good length on a tart strawberry-rhubarb finish. Solid price performer. Crafted with 100% Tempranillo. Full-bodied and masculine with balanced cleansing acidity. Enjoy with a juicy hamburger or grilled rib steak. Points for value.

Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Dark fruit, leather, and flowery aromas blend with a complex full bodied wine that reveals lots of ripe fruit flavours, baking spices, and earthy notes. The tannins are reasonably integrated and this wine would pair really well now with fatty meat dishes. With another five years of ageing, this wine will have mellowed and should be a pleasant sipper for those who love full layered wines.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Spicy, smokey red cherry, eucalyptus, cedar, and candied berries. The taste is a well balanced blend of red and black berries with medium-plus acidity and silky tannins. This wine is definitely hitting above it's price point and will pair nicely with rare steak.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Leather, berries, and earthiness in the glass. Well integrated tannins with lots of ripe berries, leather, vanilla and sandalwood wood on the palate. Aged 12 months in Oak barrels.
