Reviews and Ratings

Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A very good introduction of Chilean Carmenere, with some Petit Verdot and Syrah added to the blend. Medium-bodied with dark ripe fruit aromas, like fig, and some spicy notes. A fruit wine throughout the palate, it is well balanced, with medium acidity and slightly higher tannins so decanting is recommended. Pair with all meat dishes, meat appetizers or aged cheeses.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The Santa Alicia Anke Winemaker’s Blend Selection 2017, from the Maipo Valley in Chile, reveals aromas of dark cherry, black plum, menthol, green bell pepper, dark chocolate and sandalwood. Made from 55% Carmenere, 30% Petit Verdo and 15% Shiraz, the Anke pleases with its full body, agreable balance and warm coating finish. The palate shows a well integrated layer of fruit such as raspberry and plum, as well as white pepper, leather, caramel and sandalwood. Enjoy!
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

With 55% Carmenère, 30% Petit Verdot and 15% Syrah this blend has a fresh nose with attractive green pepper and vegetal notes. The palate is also fresh and vibrant with lots of fresh red plum and currant. Medium finish. Serve with BBQ kebabs. Tasted February 2020. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
From the Maipo Valley Santa Alicia Anke 2017 is the winemaker's blend selection of 55% Carmenère, 30% Petit Verdot and 15% Syrah. Lush and layered on the palate with dark plum, cherry flavours mouth filling on the palate and balanced with great acidity for food. Lovely now. Pair with gourmet burgers from the grill. - Community Wine Reviews
