A voluptuously layered, full-bodied Spanish red wine made from Tempranillo grapes. Attractive aromas of dark fruit, cigar box, tanned leather and dried tobacco leaves. Pair with a juicy, rare steak. Terrific wine for your cellar.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Higher alcohol levels results in a heavily bodied wine. Good length with oak flavours over fruit flavours. Flavours build on the palate along with a certain warmth.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Made from 95% Temp, 5% Garnacha, aged 12 mos in French & American oak. Shows enhanced fruit flavours from addition of 5% Garnacha, along with vanilla, leather and tobacco. Tannins a bit tight, decant 1 hr, then enjoy w grilled lamb chops.

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Luis Canas Crianza 2015, made from 95% Tempranillo and 5% Garnacha (Grenache) from the well renown Rioja region in Spain, is one of the best value for quality wine on the market right now. The Bodegas Luis Canas is well known for producing great affordable wine with aging capability. The 2015 vintage offers aromas of dark cherry, fig, black pepper, mustard seed, parmesan cheese, cigar box and wood burner. This lovely Crianza shows spicy notes, with a full body and a dusty finish. The mouth will deliver sour cherry, bay leaf, earthy notes, baking spice and cedar. Enjoy.
Luis Canas Crianza 2015 is a well-priced, full-bodied Rioja red under $20. Produced from 95% Tempranillo and 5% Grenache wine grapes, this dry red is layered with dark fruit, cigar box, leather and dried tobacco flavours on the palate. The blended wine was aged in French and American oak barrels for over one year. Pair with a juicy, rare steak. - Community Wine Reviews
