Smoky great Californian red wine made from the state's classic Zinfandel grape, and offering lusciously ripe black and purple plum aromas. Please, tell me that campfire story again as the smoke swirls around my head and the stars above us on this mid-summer night. Perfect for grilled meats. Ironstone delivers extreme value in the glass at many price points. Pair this blockbuster red with BBQ chicken or ribs.

Zinfandel food pairings: barbecued ribs, wings, burgers, spaghetti Bolognaise, aged cheddar.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Old Vine Zin from Lodi, California has an exhilarating peppery nose. The palate shows delicious concentrated spicy ripe red berry flavours and vanilla. Long spicy red fruit finish.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Yummy Cali Zin that's not just all jammy fruit. Smokey, black plums, blackberry, vanilla, 'new leather' and a little heat are my key notes. Luscious acidity on the palate, little to no tannins, med-full body and a smooth smokey-blackberry finish. I enjoy pairing Zins with Southern BBQ. Baby back ribs! Go for it!
Ironstone has been making wine for four generations now, farming sustainably in California. Vines more than 45 years old produce this blockbuster Zinfandel. The winery is located in the historic Gold Rush town of Murphys. - Community Wine Reviews
