Vibrant, fleshy black cherries on the nose followed by a deeper, richer black cherry liqueur in the mouth. Rich, full-bodied and glorious. This wine comes from a 37-acre vineyard of 80-year-old Grenache and Syrah vines. It’s aged in cement tanks to preserve fruit freshness. Seduction in a glass.

Tasting Note
From a 37-acre vineyard, this cuvee is made from 80-year-old vines (mostly Grenache and some Syrah), and everything is aged in cement tanks. The result is a naked expression of fruit. This wine possesses gorgeously pure blackberry and black cherry notes intermixed with poultry, charcoal, lard, and camphor. The complex aromatics are followed by a ripe, pure wine bursting with fruit. It also exhibits an impressive structure, admirable richness and texture, and a full-bodied finish that lasts for 25-30 seconds. Score - 90. (Robert Parker Jr., www.erobertparker.com, Oct. 2009)
