Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Deep, dark and opaque. ABV is a well exhibited 14.5% ! Pronounced aromas of cherries, plums, suede leather, dried leaves and tobacco saturated cigarbox! Flavours are a mouthful of fresh field strawberries, cassis, dried blueberries, menthol and a very hot red peppercorn finish. Big and bold with high acidity, grippy pulling tannins and a full finish with black and blue fruit repeating. Over all this is a stellar price for a good year in the right bank. 90 points - tasted May 2018
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Charming wine from Chateau La Prade, located in Franc-Cotes de Bordeaux AOC, reveals nice aromas of strawberry, plum, violet, leather, tobacco, chocolate and incense. Made from 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 vintage shows a full body with great balance. Flavors of plum, red currant, tobacco leaf, graphite, baking spices and cedar. Enjoy!
Château La Prade 2015 is a medium-plus bodied red wine blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc grapes grown on limestone soils in the Côtes De Bordeaux - Francs wine region. Produced by Nicolas Thienpont, this red has a pronounced nose of blackberry, black currant, light herbs and savoury spice. Drink now and for the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
