A classic Châteauneuf-Du-Pape, medium-plus-bodied with meaty, wild herbs, earthy mushroom and pepper-spice flavours on the palate. Easy to love, but youthful and could easily spend three more years in cellar to start showing its best. A good cellaring candidate for 15 years or more.

Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 96/100 with the following review:

Pure pleasure as delivered by the Perrin family - wine royalty in the Rhone. It has elegance and depth, complexity and length. It makes you stop in wonder at what is possible in the world of fine wine. Meaty, leather, black pepper, black olive and plum. It's all there waiting for you. Enjoy. @wrightwineblog
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

You will have to be patient for about 5 years before you can truly enjoy this concentrated Chateauneuf-Du-Pape full of red cherry and raspberry, spicy notes and light smoke. Silky and smooth, beautifully balanced. Enjoy (eventually) with Chateaubriand. Tasted October 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The thirteen historic grapes that are blended for Chateauneuf-du-Pape are present here in a deep garnet, full-bodied wine with oak aromas of leather and truffle. A long finish, decanting or ageing is recommended here. Try pairing with some French Provencal dishes.
Château de Beaucastel 2017 Châteauneuf-Du-Pape produced by Famille Perrin and is a medium-plus-bodied 35% Mourvèdre, 25% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Counoise, 5% Cinsault red wine blend with ripe dark cherry, plum, meaty, earthy, savoury herb and spice flavours on the palate. - Community Wine Reviews
