Reviews and Ratings
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: From Sonoma Valley, California, this dark ruby/garnet Cab has a perfumed cassis and strawberry jam nose. The palate gives cassis, ripe strawberries, vanilla, allspice and oak. Dry and well-balanced with mouth-watering acidity and lingering cassis finish; it's a winner! Tasted July 2016
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: The Alexander Valley in California produces some of my favorite wines so I was happy to try this ruby coloured Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of dark berry and smoke followed by mouthfuls of plum, cherry, vanilla and spice make this a wine to savour. This would be great paired with grilled steak or a hearty sausage pasta.
Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: So many flavours layered in this delicious red. Berries, chocolate, vanilla and the perfect amount of tannins. I'm thinking grilled steak, shrimp or sausage. Tasted November 27, 2016.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: All I can think about are chocolate covered cherries after tasting this wine. Lots of dark chocolate and mocha on the nose, with ripe dark berry. Slightly smokey, and some warm spice (cinnamon, nutmeg) come through with the berry flavours on the palate. A beautiful steak wine.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Dark chocolate, black cherry, vanilla, leather and spice with a hint of BBQ smoke. Deep, opaque ruby, full-bodied with fleshy tannins, this wine captures all the nuances of a California Cab. Pair with rare, grilled beef. Tasted Nov. 27, 2016.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Layered and lightly smoky. A well-structured dry Cab with chocolate, vanilla, and some baking spice flavours. Tannins are still a bit young. Score 89. (Reviewed Nov. 27, 2016).
Simi 2013 from the Alexander Valley in California is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, deep ruby in colour with ripe red berries, chocolate and a vanilla finish. The grapes from this vintage were grown in the cooler climate of the Sonoma's Alexander Valley. The wine is fresh with firm, grippy tannins. A little cellar time will go a long way for this wine -- Cellar for a few years and have it at its best. This wine is definitely one for the barbeque. - Community Wine Reviews
