A consistently great Baco Noir from the country's best producer of this varietal. Rich and robust with aromas of blackberry and plum. Pair with grilled meats.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A fine budget-friendly Baco Noir with intense blueberry and black currant flavours and touch of sweet spice. Enjoy with aged cheddar, game or beef dishes.

Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

In my humble opinion, the Speck brothers make the best Baco Noir in Ontario. They seem to have found and coaxed out the finer points of the grape and are able to craft quite an elegant wine from a hybrid (oh to the horror of the vinifera purists!) The entry-level Baco is plush and plummy with a soft smokey spice and nice bit of zingy cherry to balance it out. Always awesome with bbqd meat.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

If anyone wants to try Baco Noir from Ontario, this is the perfect one to try. Bright, tart fruit and some intensity from spicy and smoky notes on the nose. Tart cherry, warm spice and a caramel note on the palate. Sooth tannin. Medium+ finish, nice balance, excellent value. Enjoy with ribs or grilled sausages.
