Full-bodied, warm and mouth-filling. The first fruity sensory notes give way to lively spicy notes of cocoa berry and coffee powder. Tannins are young but well integrated. (Aldo Fiordelli,jamessuckling.com,Sept. 23, 2024) MINE: Fanti 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino is fragrant with licorice, dark plum, loamy earth and sweet dried tobacco spice flavours fresh and silky smooth on the palate. Tannins are soft and rounded as well. Drinking beautifully now through 2039, enjoy it with a Tuscan steak. NEW: Montalcino's most age-worthy Sangiovese finds a confident home in this Brunello from Fanti. Dark plum leads the nose, with an earthy, loamy undertone giving it real depth. The palate has turned silky, and the tannins have already rounded into something approachable. This Brunello has decades of life ahead of it, though there's no reason to wait to enjoy it tonight. A Tuscan steak, cooked simply over the coals, is really all this wine is asking for.

Brunello Di Montalcino food pairings: mushroom ragu, beef daube, grilled game sausages, boar ragu.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
