This spectacular red wine manages to be both rich and deeply flavoured yet fresh and vibrant. How do they do that? Well, I'm not going to spend a lot of time trying to figure it out: let's just enjoy the fruits of their labour, shall we? A corridor of cool mint blackberry happiness breezes up from the glass. Full-bodied, supple and gulpable. You will want more so don't just buy one bottle. Great with hearty meat dishes. Love that this is a mature Shiraz: hard to find those on the market these days: offers an intriguing look at just how well superbly crafted Australian Shiraz can age.

Reviews and Ratings

Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Wow! Aromas of bourbon, candied fruit, eucalyptus, and vanilla build on each other the longer it stays in the glass...or simply put: my mom's Christmas Cake! With a long spicy finish, this wine is drinking nicely now, or will keep for another five years. Pair with lamb dishes, Sheppard's Pie, or Tortiere.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

My Christmas Wine Wish List starts with this Barossa Valley Shiraz! It is an opaque dark purple red with a delicious nose of vanilla and blackbery jam. The rich palate washes layers of flavours over your tongue; ripe red and dark berries, blueberries, ripe plums, vanilla, and spice. Shows a very nice balance between the oak and spicy elements. Soft tannins. Shows the Barossa terroir from West Island. Aging potential up to 5 years. Release date Dec. 17th. Make a run for it!
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Blackberry and black plum, eacalyptus, dark chocolate, baking sices and more. A velvety mouth feel with flavours of dark plum, blackberry, all with a bright, juicy acidity and some grippy round tannins. A great wine for almost any red wine. Complex, juicy, and warm.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A complex and juicy red with blackberry, plum, cherry, mint and spice flavors.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

At nearly eight years old, this Aussie Shiraz is medium ruby and just starting to show some age on the rim. The nose shows plummy, blackberry and cherry fruit along with cedar, spice and dried herb and earthy notes. Full bodied and intense, with repeating flavours from the nose, some savoury brown spice notes are also coming through. Enough structure to likely last another 10 years as the savoury notes continue to develop. Beautiful wine. Feb 1, 2015
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Well-balanced wine with tannins, acid and fruit. It is well integrated and ready to drink now with a red meat on the old bbq. Very nice!
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Deep beautiful colour, full bodied, lots of pepper and red bright fruit. Also notes of spice, cedar, oak and leather. Structured tannins, and a medium to long finish. Enjoy this with a nice steak.
Kris reviewed this wine as follows:
