Terrific intensity and concentration of flavour yet it's balanced, structured and sculpted. Superb Spanish Cabernet! The grapes for this lusciously ripe Spanish Cabernet Sauvignon grow on vines planted on the belvedere of the Mas la Palana estate. Aromas of blackberry jam, dark spice and some pepper. Pair with grilled steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: lamb Bolognese, grilled New York strip loin, hard cheese, braised pork shanks, veal chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Ruby red, 14% ABV, dry, well balanced. Medium plus tannins, medium plus acidity. Blackberry, red currant, dark cherry, baking spice and eucalyptus. Wonderful pairing with braised or BBQ beef. Great value, accessibly priced. Tasted 2013 vintage June 2017. 91 points. BespokeTastings
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This Cabernet Sauvignon from Spain was aged in French oak for 12 months. Aromas and flavours consist of dark berry preserves, dark chocolate and a touch of mint. Although the tannins were on the medium-plus side, the wine still showcased a beautiful elegance. This would pair well with medium-rare roast beef. Tasted August 27, 2017.
Lynn Van Der Linde rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Enticing rich aromas of vanilla, oak, blackberries, and a hint of eucalyptus. The blackberry flavour carries through on the palate with a wonderful hit of pepper mid-late palate, and a persistent spicy finish. Great with BBQ fare and charcuterie boards.
Tasted August 2017.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Tasted in 2020. Aromas have evolved and are earthy, with notes of dried spices and tea, along with more dried raisin, currant and blackberry. leather and smoke. Full bodied, smooth on the palate, tannins have softened, and fruit flavours are dried and concentrated. This is lovely, and I would say still great for another couple of years. Enjoy with a grilled steak.
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Great nose of black currant (jam), cherry, leather, spice, toast, tobacco, vanilla and more of that on the palate. I reviewed this wine a few months ago and am now finding it much fuller and more voluptuous than previously - velvety with fine tannins. Deserves an extra point - fabulous!
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted July 16, 2017, colour dark ruby red, medium plus legs. Aromas, black fruit, black pepper and cocoa powder, Taste, dry with medium plus fruit, nice level of tannin and acidity, medium on the heat. I liked this wine easy to drink with nice flavour. The labelling is elegant gold on black. Pairs great with BBQ meat or Spanish dishes.
