Reviews and Ratings

Joe Hache Prince Edward Count rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Boca Nera means "stained mouth" in Italian.

This wine has flavors of cherry, blackberry, vanilla and smoky tobacco. A fellow winemaker in the county describes it as a "fruit bomb"!

TerraCello's Boca Nera is a rich, juicy, big red wine that when paired with beef such as a burger, compliments and contrasts flavors! It also pairs very well with the winemakers personally prepared pizzas in his homemade stone oven!

Available only at the winery, this wine makes the trip to the county worthwhile! A recent Opimian tour I brought to the winery literally bought every bottle off the shelves!
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A lovely fragrant opaque ruby red wine from Ontario's Prince Edward County. On the nose, cedar, forest pine, ripe red berries and a touch of chalk. The palate shows ripe strawberries, cedar, cloves and touch of chalk. Velvety mouthfeel.
I'd serve this with a sirloin steak.
Chris Coughlin - WSET level 3 grad rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Always looking for a 'stand-out'? try this Terracello wine with marzipan, berries and spice on the nose, palate of darker berries and a dryish mouth-feel, interesting.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Dark and savoury with plum and cassis aromas. Very smooth and supple, with a pleasant round finish.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Very deep opaque purple wine. Plum, blueberry and cassis, anise, and a chalky characteristic. Became more liquer-like the longer it sat. A very full bodied wine. Pair with grilled pepper steak.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 83/100 with the following review:

Raspberry liquer on the nose with red fruit, clove and tobacco notes on the palate.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 82/100 with the following review:

Deep purple, nearly opaque, with a purple hue. Nose displayed beets, wet cement, vegetal with more or less a repeat of the aromas on the palate. A unique tasting wine, may not please the masses, however, could be the perfect gift for the curious wine lover in your life.
Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 81/100 with the following review:

Dark purple fruit / tobacco leaf / licorice / meaty / medium bodied

Juicy, beefy burgers.
