Reviews and Ratings

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Cedar, tobacco, Cassis, and baking spices n the aroma, and a taste of tart cherry and blackberry. There's a little grippy tannins and good acidity. A great wine for roast beef or stew, and a good value.
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a well-priced Shiraz, from South Africa. It is a full-bodied, complex wine, that is well made. There are notes of dark ripe fruit, savoury herbs, smoke, spice, chocolate and is mixed with good acidity and tannins. Overall, a perfect bbq wine.
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Shiraz is the cornerstone of the Fairview label given that it was the first variety they bottled, and how well it suits the terroir. This is a dark ruby wine with hints of black fruit, pepper, spice and light oak. Great paired with roasted rack of lamb or prime rib.
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby with aromas of plum, black cherry, cassis, cigar box, cedar and baking spices. It is medium-full bodied with tart black cherry, plum and spice on the palate. It will pair well with grilled red meats and firm cheeses.
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 82/100 with the following review:

Aromas of barnyard, blackberries and smoke. Light to medium-bodied wine with dark fruit and coffee. Would pair with a burger and blue cheese.
Fairview (2014) is full-bodied, smoky, savoury with cigar box, blackberry, dried tobacco leaves on the nose. This is an entirely elegant and complex Shiraz at a great price. Blackberry, blueberry, sweet spice and mocha on the palate and the wine is full and lush. Pass the roast beef and horseradish, please. - Community Wine Reviews
