Reviews and Ratings

Carla rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

An exquisite, rich, red wine with a deep, dark colour. The flavours blended smoothly as it breathed.

The winemaker's notes:
"The blend will grip your senses with complexity and depth as no single varietal can possibly capture. Talon represents the art of capturing the perfect blend. Notes of berries, coffee and black licorice on the nose with a wonderful taste of blackberry, nutmeg and cassis on the palate.

Varietal: Cab Franc, Merlot, Baco Noir, Cab Sauv and Marechal Foch."
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Blackberry aromas with black fruit, cherry and smoke flavors
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A nice round, medium bodied wine leading with plums, black cherry, vanilla and leather. Nice mellow tannins in the finish make this a great wine with BBQ steak.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A medium bodied red with plush wild fruit with a slightly rough edge. Plim, black currant, and dried fig. Some dried leather, pepper, and a dusting of cocoa powder. Would pair well with wild game.
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby, with red and dark berry fruit complimented by slight toasty notes and spice. Nicely complex medium-bodied red that would stand-up to a few red meat dished and pasta with red sauces. Medium acid and tannins, that make this a food friendly wine.
Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby in colour, this wine has layers of aromas and flavours: black cherry, black currant, blackberry jam, vanilla, cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, violet, cigar box, nutmeg, and leather.
The soft tannins and medium plus body carry the flavours through on the clean, complex, warming finish.
Drink now.
Enjoy on its own or pair with lighter fare from the grill including raosted peppers, root vegetables, and potatoes.
Date tasted: June 2014.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A dark ruby red blend from Ontario's Lake Erie. Aromas of dark fruit and earthy notes, followed by a palate of dark fruit, hints of spice and touch of smoke. Medium-bodied.
Great with pizza or grilled barbequed red meat.
Chris Coughlin - WSET level 3 grad rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby in colour, this blended red has the alcohol and acidity up-front, but after that you'll find some raspberry, plum and cherry notes.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

June 22, 2014: Deep ruby, with black fruits and oak influenced spice on the nose. Faily straightforward, plummy and black cherry with some herb and toasty oak. Medium body, soft tannins and a medium cherry finish, should be fairly versatile with grilled meat and pizza.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby red in colour. Nose full of dark fruits, herbal spices, and roasted beets. Grippy tannins that would benefit from a complementary cheese or meat dish to help smooth them out. Tasted with grilled veggies which made the wine taste tart.
Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Cherry-cola / red currant / tobacco leaf / smokey with a medium-medium tannin and body.

Perfect BBQ wine (especially chicken with some mild BBQ sauce!)
