Smoky and savoury with mouth-watering, juicy black fruit flavours wrapped in attractive toasty oak. Great value here for the money. First there was Wayne Gretzky then Doug Gilmour of the Maple Leafs with their own wines. Now here's one for the whole gang. Pair with game tacos and burgers.

The Colio Estate Wines Hat Trick NHL Alumni Cabernet Merlot 2014 is very appealing on the nose. Aromas of cherry, red berry fruit, and a hint of blueberry. On the palate a nice medium to long finish of red berry fruit and vanilla spice. Tasted January 31, 2016 (89/100)
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

I can't lie, I was attracted by the fun label ( sports fan here). Deep ruby red in colour. Medium-bodied red with plenty of red fruit on the nose. Some light tannins. Easy drinking wine possibly with meat lovers pizza ( my apologies to my daughter the vegetarian). Definitely a good value.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A bit of smoke and oak mingled with dark fruit. Fruit is brighter on the palate, and there is also a hint of pepper. Great for burgers or anything on the BBQ.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Aromas of cherry and blackberry, with a little smoke and leather. Nice acidity and flavours of cherry and raspberry. There's a bit of tannin to hold it up. A nice medium bodied red that will pair well with burgers, turkey and more.
