Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.

Tasting note:

This is the winery's first time making this particular chardonnay. The fruit was sourced from the estate's Quarry Road, Robyn's Bench, David's Block and Hillside vineyards. It's both organic and biodynamically farmed. This rich layers of toasty oak and vanilla spice come from barrel fermentation followed by 12 months of aging in French oak (20% of which was new). There is terrific minerality and depth in this wine; it's full-bodided but heavy with great complexity and hedonistic satisfaction. Food matches: vegetarian dishes, pasta with cream sauces, and white meats would be great choices. Try cedar plank salmon or roasted pork tenderloin to experience the versatility of this wine.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
This exceptional Estate Chardonnay was fermented and aged in 100% French Oak barriques. A year in barrel was supplemented by a six month aging in stainless steel before bottling. The nose is expressive, showing ripe apples, citrus fruit, with nuances of stone fruit. On the palate, it fulfills the promise of the nose, bursting with balanced fruit, acidity and barrel flavors, yet retaining a rich, slightly creamy mouth feel. And of course, the characteristic minerality of our vineyards is evident! The tasting experience lingers for a long, enjoyable finish

Serve this wine between 55-60 degrees Farenheit or 12-16 degrees Celsius. Tip: If your bottle is at room temperature, put it in ice water for about 30 minutes or in the fridge for about three hours to chill it.
