This might be the Federico Fellini of chianti: a potent brew of sensuality and nostalgia that veritably sighs with heady breaths of black cherries, apples and juicy, dark plums. Fabulous with a nice, rare steak or some spaghetti Bolognese.

Lots of rich and ripe fruit here, with fresh plum that turns to prune with chocolate undertones. Full and velvety. Drink now or age. Score: 92 Source: James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, July 24, 2011
