Tasting note:

Vintages Wine Panel: From late-harvested grapes comes this fine, very quaffable Primitivo. Aromas of mincemeat, blueberry, spun sugar and dried cherry. A touch off-dry, it's crowd-pleasing and gives a hint of the Cali style (Primitivo is the same grape as Zinfandel), yet still has Italian sensibilities. Forward fruit and silky tannins means it well now. My note: Pure purple goodness with lip-smacking purple plums and fleshy blueberries. Full-bodied and smooth, this is a terrific BBQ or pizza wine. Food matches: barbecued back ribs in a rich sauce, gourmet sundried-tomato pizza.
