Tommasi Rafaèl 2020 Valpolicella Classico Superiore is a great value fruity, full-bodied, traditional Corvina, Rondinella and Molina red blend at $20. Fragrant with fresh red berries, cherry, fine herb, vanilla, baking spice flavours and peppery notes on nose and palate. Beautifully balanced with fresh acidity, tannins are medium and fine-grained. The wine was matured for 15 months in Slavonian oak casks. Produced from a fourth-generation family estate founded in 1902 with holdings of 260 acres in the Valpolicella Classico zone.

Valpolicella Classico food pairings: hard cheeses, spaghetti Bolognese, veal piccata.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
