Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This wine is one of the reasons Spanish wine sales keep climbing in Ontario. On the nose, big black cherry aromas defer to big complex oak aromas (chocolate, coffee). Powerful on the palate where the fruit moves to the foreground and the oak receeds. Not pucker-dry this has a kiss of sweetness to make it a sure hit in your backyard with slow cooked ribs. 2017-2019
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

There is lots of cherry and dried flower notes in this wine, along with cola and sassafras. 92 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
From the Rioja wine region, Burgo Viejo Licenciado Reserva (2008) has matured well. Deep garnet in the glass with a toasty, cherry wine nose. There is still good acidity on this wine with a long red plum/cherry finish. The 2008 Vintage was awarded silver in the International Wine Challenge. - Community Wine Reviews
