Reviews and Ratings

A robust, balanced Amarone that isn't as sweet-tasting as most are with their black cherry liqueur flavours. This one is more black fruit and smoke. Very nice. Perfect for roast beef. OTHER: This sculpted red offers aromatic notes of dried marjoram and ground pink peppercorn up front, with black currant pâte de fruit, plum cake, mocha and steeped cherry flavours, underscored by a savoury streak of forest floor. Tightly knit and focused. Best from 2017 through 2029. Score - 91 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Oct. 31, 2015). MINE: This Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico (2009) is a towering Italian red wine of great concentration and depth with dried savoury herbs, dark cherry and white pepper. Drink great now and would be a perfect pairing with roast duck. OTHER: : Bringing together three classic grapes of Veneto, this wine blends 60% Corvina with 30% Rondinella and 10% Molinara. It's big, bold and impeccably balanced, with notes of bright cherry, plum and chocolate wrapped in a rich, juicy mouthfeel. Pair with high-cocoa dark chocolate or marinated meats grilled low and slow. (Vintages panel, Oct. 2016). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
