Reviews and Ratings

Carola Price rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A super fresh nicely balanced steely Chardonnay. A refreshing change when so many Australian Chardonnays are over oak tropical fruit bombs. Pair with yellow curry, sushi, Baja fish tacos and fat tuna steaks with caper butter. Drink now to 2 years.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Tropical fruit aromas with pear, pineapple and some melon on the palate. Well balanced with crisp flavors. Pair with grilled whitefish or oysters.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Aromas of yellow apple, pear, lemon and vanilla and a hint of fresh herbs with flavours of lemon and peach. Medium body, with a medium finish and good acidity. Tasted July 24, 2016.
Here at Yalumba we believe that one good wine leads to another. The Y Series was created with that belief in mind.
The Y Series represents a collection of iconic classics and exciting new varietals. Each authentically crafted with fruit from South Australia’s most celebrated wine regions.
WINEMAKER COMMENTS
We were able to pick the 2015 Unwooded Chardonnay across the flavour spectrum, resulting in great natural acid balance. From crisp lively citrus, through to the fuller peach flavours, this wine is bursting with character while still retaining its natural zing. Cool processing and wild fermentation were used to enhance the flavours, with the wine being allowed time on its yeast lees after blending, this has built richness and complexity.
TASTING NOTES
Fresh tropical fragrances provide a tantalizing suggestion of rich, creamy peach and nougat flavours. With its subtle spiciness and crisp finish this is a lively white wine with a touch of exoticness.
A Chardonnay to be enjoyed now – try with slow roasted pork belly with pear coleslaw.
