The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this luscious, full-bodied Shiraz are grown in the cool climate of the Clare Valley wine region. This Cabernet Sauvignon is a staggeringly great value wine under $20. Aromas of blackberry, black currant, spice and toasty oak. Smooth with a long finish. Pair with hearty meat dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Perry rated this wine as 92/100
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lovely, bright, and balanced. This is a great value Cabernet Sauvignon, with aromas of raspberry and currants, along with a touch of mocha and a hint of cedar and spice. Medium bodied, smooth on the palate with bright berry notes and a slightly evergreen note on the finish. Enjoy with burgers.
Lush, full-bodied, juicy and amazing value at $20, Wakefield Estate 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is rich with blackberry, black currant, cassis, chocolate, licorice and savoury spice flavours silky smooth and long on the palate. It's a fruit bomb with well-balanced acidity and velvety tannins. Drink or cellar to 2030. Wine grapes for this vintage were sourced from vines in the cool climate Clare Valley wine region, as well as growers on the Limestone Coast, with whom the Wakefield family have had a long, working relationship. Fermentation is in the family's old 'Potter' fermenters with some extended time on skins. The wine spends a year in a combination of two year old and neutral French oak barrels. One for the barbie and delicious! - Community Wine Reviews
